IMI’s Lab: ISO/IEC 17025 Certified

March 9, 2016, Laguna, Philippines — Integrated Micro-Electronics Inc. (IMI) Analytical Testing and Calibration (ATC) laboratory was granted accreditation for ISO/IEC 17025 on January 8, 2016 by the Philippine Accreditation Bureau (PAB) of the Department of Trade and Industry.

On March 7, Ernani M. Dionisio, PAB director awarded the certificates of accreditation to Gilles Bernard, IMI’s chief operating officer; Philippe Marquet, head of global design and development; Mario Bernardo Santos, head of Philippine operations; and Joseph Garfin, senior division manager of the ATC laboratory, at IMI plant in Laguna.

IMI’s ATC laboratory was “assessed and found conforming to the requirements of Philippine National Standard or PNS ISO/IEC 17025:2005 and the PAB conditions for laboratory accreditation in the fields of chemical, electrical and mechanical testing with nine (9) approved signatories as specified in the Scope of Accreditation,” as stated in all of the three certificates awarded to ATC laboratory.

The accreditation demonstrates technical competence for the scope specified by the PAB and the operation of a laboratory quality management system that meets the principles of ISO 9001:2008, a quality management system.

IMI’s ATC laboratory is the first in the Philippines to be granted accreditation on Reliability Testing and SEM Inspection on Failure Analysis by the Philippine Accreditation Bureau.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) or ISO/IEC 17025 is the standard for testing and calibration laboratories in the world.
