You’ll never know what you’re capable of unless you try--and believe. Mary Ann Mandap’s fifteen-year career journey has proven that. This is her story with IMI.

My fifteen-year journey as a Production Operator in IMI has been a rollercoaster ride. There have been so many ups and downs, with days that left me happy, frustrated, and tired in equal measure. But, I never gave up. Grateful for the job security, I was content to fulfill my responsibilities--no more, no less. As a Production Operator and Material Handler, I was satisfied with my position. That is, until things changed.

In 2018, someone believed in my capabilities so much that I was promoted to Officer-In-Charge (OIC). It was a possibility I had never imagined for myself, and I declined at first. I didn’t believe I could do it because of all the responsibilities that the role entails. But my supervisor believed in me, and I have proven to myself that I can do it--I only need to trust and believe in myself. Now, I am acting as OIC for BOSCH AE, BOSCH GS, PROTEC ANALOG, and SIVANTOS COB Laguna 3.

I can proudly say that I fulfill my responsibilities at IMI with integrity and passion, and will continue to do so. With perseverance and confidence in what I am capable of, as well as continuous support from the person who helped me to be where I am today, I am very proud to share that I was awarded as Best Operator for two consecutive quarters in 2019.

Last November, I was nominated as Employee of the Year 2019. This was a first in my 15 years in IMI. I am so grateful to IMI and myself for believing that I can do the things I never thought I was capable of. I would like to thank my supervisor who trusted, believed, and supported me, up until now in my journey. 

Let's not just stop at what we have done well. Instead, let us grow and improve even more--and help others do the same. As President Dwight D. Eisenhower
